Fund-raising Activities Support Research, Education, Community CareAn extensive network of more than 500 volunteers powers the Canadian Orthopaedic Foundation's fund-raising efforts. Volunteers are patients, orthopaedic professionals, physiotherapists and other health-minded community members. Their passion and enthusiasm make possible the programs delivered by the Foundation.
The Foundation's flagship fund-raising program is its Hip Hip Hooray! walk events, which usually take place at the end of May in communities from Vancouver to Gander. These family events consist of a short walk, refreshments and other activities. Most importantly, Hip Hip Hooray! is a celebration of orthopaedic patients' return to mobility, and an opportunity for patients and the surgical team to meet informally outside the operating room. Hip Hip Hooray! has raised approximately $17.9 million since its inception with proceeds supporting orthopaedic research, education and care.

"The future of orthopaedics and the well-being of many, many Canadians lies in research, and Hip Hip Hooray! plays an important role in orthopaedic research." Paul Wright, Orthopaedic Surgeon.
